McCain Visits Sderot Ahead of Solidarity Day

Submitted by Chaya, Mar 20, 2008 07:30

As much as I appreciate McCain's visit, I can't help but think that it's a good photo op for the candidate. Who is he doing this for? Number one, the Jews in the U.S.; but they comprise a minority of the country. The other ones he's doing this for is the Religious Right Wing of the GOP who supports Israel over the 'palestinians' because of theological considerations. Then there are also the 'security' GOP types who also support Israel very strongly. It all sounded nice until he said those words "peace negotiations." I can't believe he's that naive! Or maybe those words were for the more moderate of the GOP and some security-minded Democrats. Once the candidate is in office the campaign words tend to be forgotten.
