in response to reader comment: fiction. there is no shortage

The writer is absolutely correct about the exam. The speaking section of the exam is not just it.In some test centers, during the speaking section , it always like market place because everybody talks at the same time thereby distarcting each other. The exam also encourages cheating because i know one or two people who told me they were able to pass the speaking section because they overheard the questions from other students who were doing thier own speaking before they started their speaking sections.

It is a known fact that the foreign medical graduates are reqiured to score 24 in speaking section which is reasonable enough while the nurses are given other options of english test.

It is still amazing that NABP is insisting on score of 26 in the speaking section without given people other options of english tests when there are other options.I thought America is a land of freedom and democrazy. NABP should take a look at Canada fluency tests and the options they gave foreign graduates

I believe a test of speaking english should be a form of interview because communication is a two-way thing .Communication should measure both verbal and non-verbal aspects of speaking ,the eye contact, the body language, facial expressions are all parts of speaking which are not being evaluated in the Toefl-ibt speaking section because you speak to the computer and your speaking is evaluated by someone or two people who use their personal opinion to judge.

I think NABP should take a second look at the exam and find a fair solution to the problem because Toefl-ibt is not a fair exam.
