Elephants on 34th Street: Must Be Circus Time

The majority of circuses take great care of their animals. If an animal was abused, starved, or neglected like the animal rights activists claim they would not be in the top physical shape that is required to perform the feats they do furthermore the audience would be able to see the scars, etc. Several studies have been conducted recently that actually have found that circus elephants live longer than zoo elephants because and elephant needs mental stimulation and thats what the circus provides. Every day circus animals expierence new sights, sounds, smell, and expierences just like they would in the wild. Another study conducted by Dr. Ted Friend of Texas A & M University found that "tigers perk up before shows" and "elephants enjoy performing and fight do their acts if they are not taken into the ring."

The very idea of circus's abusing animals doesn't even make sense. An Asian elephant costs about $200,000 to purchase, not to mention the upkeep. Now if you had a $200,000 car you would pamper that car and do everything in your power to make sure nothing happens to it. You wouldn't beat it, or slash it's tire. I'm not even sure where animal rights activists think abuse fits into the circus at because if you hit an animal because it doesn't do a trick it's not going to teach that animal a trick because it won't know why it's getting hit instead that animal is just going to be afraid of you. If you hit an animal because it does a trick it is never going to do that trick again.

The circus is just the whipping boy for the animal liberation movement. The majority of the people against circuses don't believe that animals should be used for anything. So that means no zoos, no meat, no dairy, no seeing eye dogs, no animals for medical research, not even pets.

Have A Good Day!
