Hmm. Part of the Mayor's problem seems to be a misunderstanding of the mother tongue. In the application of the law, there are illegal acts, not illegal guns. When we try to criminalize inanimate objects rather than the criminal acts of human beings, that's when we find ourselves arguing over which gun looks meaner than the other rather than what people do with them. It's very easy to criminalize guns, but not so easy to establish and enforce a system of dealing with criminals. Gun control has nothing whatever to do with crime control and never will.
