Clinton Campaign's Revote Blunder

Submitted by Nick in Virginia, Mar 21, 2008 13:03

Obviously, the time to complain about "disenfranchising" voters would have been a year ago, when the DNC decided to pull the delegates from Michigan and Florida for scheduling their primaries so early. The problem back then for Hillary was it was her people (McAuliffe, Wolfson, Ickes) who were pushing for the primary schedule that Michigan and Florida violated, and their idea to punish the states so harshly. So she COULDN'T complain back then. But then, it didn't matter, because she believed she was going to steamroller her way to the nomination. Now, after getting her butt handed to her on a silver platter, she is trying to go back and steal the votes from those two states in an attempt to get back in the running. Anyone with an IQ larger than their shoe size knows just granting her the votes from the "primaries" that were held in January is a ludicrous proposition (given that no one else was on Michigan's ballot, and no one campaigned in Florida). The only FAIR thing to do is say "no do-over", make the states live with their decisions to vote early, and then they can participate in the General Election in November with the knowledge that their party leaders are really a bunch of hypocrites on the issue of "voter disenfranchisement".
