To Chaya, why so pessimistic? McCain has repeatedly said he will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. He has also said over and over and over again that we are in a war with Islamo-fascism. His specialty is the security of the United States, real and practical, while the other candidates mouth a lot of empty words.
McCain, unlike many of the generals in the Iraqi war, as well as the Bush administration, understood the need for more troops..and the resultant sacrifices by the United States needed, both in terms of funding and casualties. Unforutnately wars do not come on the cheap, and he knows it better than most.
Obama and Clinton are handing the enemy of US a simple victory, if they just wait it out another year. It's as if the Allies had told Hitler than after Normandy, we would not go further, but withdraw from Europe. We would all be speaking German now.
The real question is, if elected, how would McCain put a crimp in Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran's goal of destroying the Jewish state, which they admit? Would he hasten our defeat in Iraq, thus allowing Iran and Iraq to control the oil flow worldwide, or go for victory?
I personally am advocating an end to any thought of a 2 state solution in the near term, and a division of US marines stationed in Israel. That would send a message to the enemies of freedom, big time.
