Why I Drive

Dear Mr. Wolf, et al:

This republic is creeping into a socialistic state, be it federal, state or local. Our Mayor is a nice man, who attempts to solve everyone's problems; when a democratic republic's function is to limit government interference into our lives. Its function should be to protect us from criminals within and without our borders, and provide other essential services.

We should not be prohibited from using our own private vehicles--but should be protected from such causing injury or death upon ourselves or others by timely inspections, etc.

Yes, we keep raising taxes everywhere, and, still, the governing body remains deficient in funds...Instead, we should lower taxation (flat tax is my preference), and invite business to our great City of New York. Why should a business decide to more here, when the taxes keep creeping upward--and soon the employers and employees will be precluded from driving to and from work?

BUREAUCRACY KEEPS GROWING; when it should be shrinking.

Cordially,

Nancy Joyce Jancourtz.
