To anyone with even a modicum of knowledge of US history, the fact that the Second Amendment refers to an individual right (just like all the other first 10 amendments) is obvious. That the question is even asked it a testimony to the deconstruction of American public education; especially in the area of history which is often lumped in with geography and given the amorphous term, "social studies" (whatever that is).

I just hope the SC doesn't screw around with interpretation too much, regardless of which way they come down on the issue. The Roe v Wade thing has been a mess - partly because the Court created precedent out of thin air as it were.
