Max Greene comments that since Baker defines Goebbels as an "anti-intellectual monster" he doesn't rehabilitate Goebbels character by using him to discredit Churchill. Then why use him at all? This is a perfect example of why the book fails. Using Goebbels to attack Churchill makes Churchill look better not worse. Kirch didn't have to offer facts that have been in the public domain since the Nuremberg trials. Most people with any knowledge of WWII already know them. If you need more than the unbridled savagery the Japanese and Nazis inflicted on the civilian populations under their control to understand the Allies had the high ground, you are either dense or an anti-American ideologue.
