U.S. Embassy Is Warning Beijing on Iran Gas Deal

Submitted by David Chapman, Dec 28, 2006 15:26

This story is almost hilarious if wasn't so serious. The USA is not going to tell China what to do. You don't tell your banker and the manufacturer of practically anything Americans buy who or what they can invest in. Of course the other side of the coin is the Chinese also don't want to do anything to upset their own applecart. So how this plays out will be very interesting. The US can try and impoose penalties but the worst case scenario is that it turns into a tit for tat type of trade war that escalates. And that means the world will pay for it.
