Gasoline May Soon Cost a Sawbuck

Submitted by Anna, Apr 29, 2008 23:19

Well.... Dan,

I am not holding my breath, but thanks for opening my ears to hear what some experts say ...and throwing around the figures which we may all be subjected to.. We will have no choice in it if we want heat, electricity, gas, food.. even water. Our Life Blood is always being spent. Until of course it is spent out.

I am in rural Wisconsin... drive a standard transmission Volvo wagon; fuel injected. My 17 yr old just passed his road test, a delightful and hopeful accomplishment in the world of teen's. Ahhh....to drive where one wants to go."... To have that wonderful sense of being in charge of something that is taking you to another location, giving you a visual changing landscape, teaching responsibility and signaling freedom of a "New Freedom" The milestone of seeing your photo on the I.D. drivers license. Today I tried to teach him the latest...conserving as much gas as possible when you must drive somewhere. His mandated clinic is over 20 miles one way and we needed to go there today. I showed him a trick in neutral. We can actually cost all the way through town, take one left turn and another immediately into our drive and be going faster than at the start. Cool.

Well, I thought that I should title this "Getting High on Fumes" because if gas will be $10.00 a gallon, I won't be going far by car. But we could enjoy for a long time sniffing on a 'gallon.'

As I hear the manipulators talk of their projections of costs rising to $2 hundred a barrel of crude I think of myself as a bystander at an Auction of the Elite, for the Elite, starting on the ceiling and selling resources to the highest bidder. Resources that I may possibly only dream of having in the very near future. Of course we know that the goal of this incremental monetary savagery has hit many nations, with plans to continue on until 'whevercallit.' Many poor families all throughout the world, may not be eating a meal tonight, and for this I am outraged. It has only gotten worse. In 1978, I wrote the United Nations after being exposed via television to the plight and starvation of Somalia's. I was outraged and felt exploited as I saw Biafran and Somalian children with their tiny little emaciated bodies, mothers caressing them with sullen hopelessness on their faces as I listened to the pleas for help, for food, for water, for medicine, for compassion to the human lives that were wasting away in the vision.. I almost vomited and was weeping, grieving and yes feeling responsible for this if I did nothing.

Whatever happened to the League of Nations.........our natural resources and know how that could yield enough food for everyone? I knew this could have been a reality.

I also knew that God provides and man destroys.......out of wickedness of heart and greed. So I appealed to the U.N. and I appealed to the Governments that agreed to raise the standard of life for all. But it was never meant to be. I was deceived and lied into thinking that those whom I trusted, those whom I paid; would do something great. Always the efforts became thwarted. I saw....and understood that there is a long history of Kings who butcher their own; who are willing to starve their own, even when food the means are available so that they may become gorge in the feasts unto themselves, giving it in hordes to those they wish to impress by measure. Bulimic Kings who had men in the lav who were paid to do the deed of putting their finger into the Kings throat so he could vomit all the exquisite fine and rich foods he had just consumed and so return and feast like this in drunkenness for days and weeks and months.

This attack upon the common man has no boundaries. We must take the assualt in all seriousness. Since we will all need food and shelter then perhaps we must stay home, retire the cars, quit our jobs, raise a garden and fend for ourselves and help meet the growing needs of those around us. My income is $926.00 a month. I cannot stretch it to pay this kind of increase to even keep a warm house, and electricity paid for the next winter. Think fast...........think smart............and while I keep my faith in my God, I just today said to him..........Well Lord, if you can get us to Heaven by trying us, putting us through the fire, giving us tribulation, then I would be forever grateful. For we have lived deliciously in comparison to much of the world. I have thanks in my heart. And I live below U.S. poverty standard. Yet we cannot complain. My son and I have had provision though debilitating illness, death of primary family, sad waking events and even some natural disasters.. The people in this community have and share the blessings of food and fellowship and concern. All I can think is that maybe, just maybe we will all smarten up before we go belly up. Maybe....God will use this for Good to those of us who love him. Maybe...we will grow so far beyond ourselves during these times of struggle that we will have an outpouring of love for one another. How many are just beginning to think of how they might remain in possession of all that they have as they are maneuvering their stocks and etc. Pulling out....cashing in.....all with hopes of the same standard of living. I think many will be quickly awakened to a new reality. Surely those who have planned this have included the statistics of those who will not survive. I think the plan has been hatched like a cockatrice egg to our destruction with the express intent that they not only can take over with their Globalization of the Corporate and Industrial markets, but also diminish the value of a man until he is eager to know there is hope for all these things. The foolish will continue to rise to be enslaved by a system that plans to 'take it all' . But, this will be the greatest time of victory for those who hold fast the faith in a Loving God, a merciful God, a Just God.....and who put their trust in Him. How long before we are killed for the spoil? I have been using every resource available to save and put away some food for over a year now. I think my neighbors will need some help soon. Time to walk to the store, instead of drive. Many will have to make decisions ahead. Now is that ahead time. Even if just for the next year we work to make the most out of our disciplines in how we save or spend.. How many families could live together? Maybe this is so very new, we should talk to a few old Russians who went through it as their country instilled by all many of these same means the intentional destructive forces to undo sovereignty and individual right of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. With all the resources that belong to everyone who lives here on the planet........and still the hearts of men grow increasingly greedy and wicked beyond imagination.

What a grievous time is ahead for the earth and all that are here and left wanting. May we be sober and vigilant in the days ahead. May we help our neighbor to stay afloat with any form of life-raft we can think of.

Anna
