Hmmm, let me think. Where do criminals get their guns? Do they buy them from legitimate gun dealers? Or do they steal them from their victims? Or buy them from criminals that stole them? Whether you like guns or not, you must realize that crime is not caused by guns, but by criminals. If you are a criminal you can't legally buy a gun. If you are judged mentally deficient, you can't legally buy a gun. There are more than twenty thousand gun control statutes in this country, and they do not keep guns away from criminals. They never have. Litigation is a much larger societal issue than legally obtained firearms. More restrictions should be placed on lawyers. If a lawyer brings a ridiculously frivolous lawsuit like this he should be punished. This is way more stupid than suing Mcdonalds for making you fat, as silly as that was.
