So the Bushists didn't anticipate the insurgency? Didn't any of their Israeli buddies tell them what's been going on since Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967? Didn't any of their British buddies tell them what happened when the British tried to occupy Palestine, or Iraq, or Afghanistan? Didn't any of their French buddies tell them what happened when the French tried to occupy Algeria? Didn't Bush see in Putin's soul what happened when the Russians took a crack at occupying Afghanistan? Which Western power in the last 200 years has invaded a Middle Eastern country and not faced an insurgency?
