Willie should have been fired immediately after the collapse last year, and a good argument can be made for Omar as well. It was obvious to anyone who watched a single game last September, let alone all of them, that he had completely lost the team. There was no way to get them back other than to come out of the gate this season firing, and he has been the same manager, and the team has played the same way. You can see all the overly optimistic fans talk about how we're over .500, etc. etc. but the bottom line is that our team has basically the 2nd highest payroll in baseball - bear in mind we are the only NL team in a short list of the 6 highest team salaries. With that payroll, we should be talking about 100 wins and world series rings, not praying for 90 wins and a playoff spot. Perhaps we sneak into the playoffs if the rest of the division is weak, but we have too many holes to really contend.
