It's not just Gazprom (RF), Total (FR) and Petronas (MAL) that the US government has given a pass. After perfunctory admonitions, the US Government let British Petroleum (UK), Shell (UK/NL) and Statoil (NOR) invest in Iran's oil and gas sector and, most recently, a consortium of Japanese companies who invested in Iran's Azadegan field. Makes it hard to suddenly decide to start enforcing ILSA.
