Randolph's Style Doesn't Fit the Mets

This is probably the most compelling case I have heard for firing Randolph, but my question whenever the "fire so-and-so" chorus begins warming up is, "who do you replace him with?" It's one thing to call for Isiah Thomas' head on a platter, where almost anyone else with an ounce of integrity could at least fail spectacularly without dragging the franchise's name through the mud.

In this case though, you genuinely open the possibility of going from bad to worse. The sort of Whitey Herzog style tactitioner you seem to suggest would be a better fit may or may not be just hanging around looking for a job. I'd be interested to hear who you have in mind.
