Call for Olympics Boycott Divides Jewish Groups

I read with despair with the attitude of some Jewish leaders for their lack of understanding of China.

The Chinese are the children of the God. So are the Jews. Both great peoples can together build a new world that is free from war, starvation, hunger and exploitation.

The Chinese have suffered enough from the years of deprivation as a result of the rule from lesser men. It's only now that they have some sweet taste of what development brings to them so far. They believe in democracy and human rights as like any Jews. What they despise is our lack of honor and understanding to appreciate that they are not making enemies of anybody in particular to the Jews, taking into consideration that thousands of Jews were saved during WW2.

It's true that the Tibetans are protesting that their culture are slowly being diluted due to development as China progress. However, when we look deeper, it's not surprised to see that there are thousands of monks in Tibet out of the total population of 2.5 millions. Many temples in the whole Tibet are being built and restored to their previous glory. I am not sure what is this 'cultural genocide' that the Western media had been trying to paint. Neither is it a human genocide by all counts as the population of the Tibetans has actually increased from a million to 2.5 millions now merely for less than a few decades.

Negative comments on the Chinese often reflect our ignorance of a different context, its globally positive socio-economic transformation

Let us now not try to smear each other for the anger that is not worth the damage. The world is facing global-warming and economic meltdown that we see and hear, but yet we haven't done enough. Humanity is facing calamity when the leaders of today are minnows in their words and deeds. Are we, the children of the God, humble enough not to cast the first stone when we ourselves have sinned. Forgive us, Almighty God
