To help to unify the party, seat all of the delegates from Florida and Michigan.
This is a historic primary and we cannot afford to banter over the primary schedule at a time like this, else the idea that "My vote did not count" and "He stole it" will resonate and Obama will not be able to carry many voters in November. We need those votes in November. I recently met tourist in NC that were from Florida and Michigan. Walking by those of us standing outside of the polls May 6th, at least a dozen said, "I already voted and my vote did not count." That is big. It resonates from the Bush - Gore debacle.
We cannot as a party afford for those hundreds of thousands of voters to say "My vote did not count." Not seating them is not good for anyone in the party. Even if it does not change the outcome in terms of the nominee, it will help to unify the party and take away that feeling of it not being fair.
There is also the idea of counting Florida as it stands, and then have the party raise money to help Michigan do a re-vote. I think that is a great idea, for the DNC to sponsor a web fund raising for Michigan and do a re-vote by June 15. It could really pull the party together, especially if it is all democrats helping to fund it and not just Clinton supporters. Then it is all much clearer and cleaner. Please help support that idea.
