I just read my denomination's (PCUSA) website about the Israeli/Palestine work, and it is nothing but helpful. If there is a political agenda, it isn't screaming out. This conflict has been going on how long? Do you think it is going to end quickly and peacefully? Not likely. Don't forget that there were times when Jesus turned the other cheek and other times when he knocked things down-the money changers in the temple. There is a time and place for both!
