Clinton's Claim

Submitted by Rich Santoro, May 21, 2008 10:28

The only way for HRC to claim the popular vote, is to count MI, with no votes going to Obama. She asserts that MI should count, because of the concerted effort by Obama supporters to "Get out the vote" and urge people to vote "uncommitted" on Sen. Obama's behalf. She points to the 40% "uncommitted" as evidence of MI being a fair election, where everyone's voice was heard. Thus she claims the popular vote totals for herself. (due to the fairness of the vote), and moves ahead in the popular vote total.

However, if she is willing to concede that the "uncommitted" votes were for Obama (at least in part), thereby making the MI votes fair and "countable" then should she not concede those "uncommitted" popular votes to him, as well? Adding those to the popular vote total, puts Obama back in the lead with the popular votes by a good 50,000 plus.
