Simplicity itself explains the differences. The prayers you read were heartfelt expressions to God. According to The Jerusalem Post, Obama's prayers were released to the media before he even left the hotel, and were crafted for media and political play more than for a prayer. A Ma'ariv spokesman said that "Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem." If you told those ladies that their prayers wouldn't be private but would be posted in a newspaper with their names and that their upcoming job could depend on their "performance," they'd read differently too. And if they had a political goal and message to get to the people through the media, the prayers would read differently still. Of course Obama's message wasn't like the others, it was written for a different audience than the others.
