One can soft-soap the cost of living crisis that every New Yorker in both the city and the rest of the state experiences daily by hauling out the tourist attractions that "pump" money into the economy. Fact is, for its demographic profile, New York state is the most expensive and heavily taxed state in the nation, bar none. Many would move out if they could. I know I will, as soon as my two boys graduate high school. This state offers no additional benefit to the average tax-paying citizen that a taxpayer could find in the other 49 states. The governor understands that fact. The legislature does not. The entire collection of Albany incumbents must be voted out. That's "change" I can live with.
