I believe the basic unit of educating a child is in the family. Parents has the responsibility to nurture and raise a child with a God-centered environment. The first words, love, caring and other firsts are things that are to be shared between child and parents. These are not to be denied by everyone whatever your religion, race or sex is. In fact, we don't need Mapping America to know this, it is innate in people to care and protect their children. My wife is a foreign visiting teacher and feels that what every students need is a solid family that promotes love, care, and responsibility. The government is providing thousands of dollars for each student and yet a lot of them are flunking the state test. She said if these government fundings are available in our country, teachers would never have any problems in providing a good education. Sometimes it is envious to know that what we have here in America is not available in other nations, like ours. But their are times that we feel at least we have a family that supports and care for our siblings. Money is essential in providing a good education but it will not provide a long term solution to the problem.
