40,000 New Yorkers Flee State for Atlanta

Submitted by Joel W., Aug 7, 2008 11:47

I grew up in Atlanta just outside of midtown and have lived in New York (four years in Gramercy and Chinatown, two years in Bedstuy). One quick comment: Marietta and a number of the other suburbs that pass for "Atlanta" are miserable places to live, especially coming from NYC. But don't dump on the actual city from 30 miles outside it. Live downtown, in Inman Park, Cabbage town, or midtown, then reevaluate. Totally different experience.
