I had the good fortune to meet Albert and listen to his enchanting playing on a beautiful antique harpsichord. It was during the mid nineties while working with Terrance Joyce. We were painting a large decorative frame motif around his large collection of authentic 17th century street maps of Paris, at his Upper West Side salon apartment. I had no idea how accomplished he was in his field — a testament to his noble yet humble nature. It's sad to hear of his passing, albeit, so long after. I just remember his sense of dignity and grandeur as if I was in the presence of royalty. Make that French royalty. Stepping into his large apartment each day was like stepping back into the Baroque period, with all his period instruments laid out on the ground floor. And Albert was King of his manor.
