The police have been cut 33%? Perhaps, but they also have angled parking at all precincts, and they double park with no fear of tickets. Believe me, there are not many cops or firefighters coming in to work on the LIRR or Metro North. It's already hard to get good teachers to stay in NYC, where they are paid less than those in surrounding areas. Let's not make it any harder for teacher committed enough to serve our kids to continue to make the trip.
