Bravo for Cynthia Tyler. Gay marriage is not a religious issue as far as the state is concerned. Religious groups can do whatever they choose within their own groups, but it is about time that they realized that the Constitution was not written as a vehicle for the promotion of their religion. If a couple chooses to have a religious wedding in addition to a civil wedding, that is in their realm. I would love to vote on straight peoples right to divorce and abandon their children. But religious groups would have plenty to say about that even though their Bible is against it. If any constitutional ammendment is necessary, it is one to outlaw religious hypocrisy.
