I disagree with you, the differences that this suit provides will only make a difference at the most extreme level of sport and this is nothing new. Plenty of us golf with less than the clubs that Tiger Woods uses, but we wouldn't benefit from the small minute benefits the way he would. Almost all sports have gone through and evolution in terms of the technologies both in terms of the training techniques (high altitude, diet, etc.) as well as the equipment and it seems arbitrary for you to stop the evolution of swimsuits now (why not choose to stop with swimsuits from the '20s or '40s or make them wear standardized wool swim suits, or swim in the nude if you wish to halt improvements). Maybe its because I am disconnected from the sport of swimming but as a hockey player (i know there are many more variables in hockey than swimming) but also I know there are more expensive (ridiculously) skates and sticks but at my level I can still use modest equipment and leave the expensive stuff to the pros. I think it's an interesting subject because it is coming up in so many sports again and again
