Former Council Speaker Seeks Extension of Term Limits

Submitted by Williamson Henderson, Aug 13, 2008 16:58

We support the belief and efforts of former New York City Council Speaker Peter F. Vallone, Sr. A citizen may support the idea of term limits; however, make the term reasonable. Just two terms is counterproductive and inadequate. As former Mayor Ed Koch once again stated on New York 1's "Inside City Politics" t.v. show, he is for term limits but make it three terms not two. That is reasonable and sensible. Our members have repeatedly voted against 'artificial' term limits. Let the NYC voters have the democratic opportunity to keep (if so voted) but extend term limits. -- Williamson Henderson PRIDE Democrats
