'New York City Problem' Dogs Franken Campaign

Submitted by Norman Teigen, Aug 14, 2008 18:49

This is a very good piece of political writing. Mr. Franken wanted to ride what he perceived as the anti-Bush tsunami wave to victory in Minnesota. He enlisted the support of celebrities who seemed to look down on the rubes in Minnesota. The truth is that Al Franken is not a very good candidate for public office. I attended the recent Farm-Fest debate near Redwood Falls and Franken came off badly. Norm Coleman may not appear to be a very good candidate either. He has registered with the people of Minnesota because he has the benefit of incumbency. Recently he has used the ads of Ms. Faris, which disparage Franken more than Coleman has dared, to his own advantage. The DFL party is the stronger of the two Minnesota political parties but it has not distinguished itself by nominating Mr. Franken.
