New York Vs. South Carolina

Submitted by New Yorker, Aug 15, 2008 01:02

For every dollar New York sends to the feds they only get back .79 cents. In contrast South Carolina gets back $1.20 which means that as a "welfare state" it can afford to have a lower tax burden. Also since there are more high-income earners in New York , McCain would be better in that department , the bush tax cuts, capital gains cuts and estate tax cuts benefits New York more than South Carolina. Strange bedfellows perhaps, the GOP tax plan ironically supports New York however, people vote against their own economic interest.
