The United States government, unfortunately, has a track record of supporting the Pakistani Army elements. Its Military Arm has always received considerable support from the United States. I hope that there will be a positive change in the US Policy when the new US President comes on the scene. Before India and Pakistan became independent countries, USA had a soft corner and has supported the Indian efforts to achieve freedom from the British colonial rule. After Aug 15, 1947, USA has veered away from India, step by step and has poured billions of dollars to Pakistan, which has strengthened the Pakistani Army. It is the USA Government which is responsible for the present state of affairs in Pakistan.
