Terror War Re-Evaluated as Musharraf Steps Down

...and in the middle of all this sits a nuclear-enabled state that houses the original Al Qaeda. A reminder to Mr. McCain: you promised to pursue Osama bin Ladin in Pakistan, just a little to the right of Afghanistan on the map. My prediction is we'll eventually find an excuse now not to treat Pakistan like it is (mostly) on our side.

Already the Taliban is waging a successful campaign against coalition forces from there. We are either going to have to step up our counterattacks, and soon, including in so-called Pakistan (natives refer to that region as Wazaristan), or pull out and say we no longer care what happens in that region of the world, though we reserve the right to bomb suspected Al Qaeda hideouts whenever we feel like it; i.e. if Pakistan and Afghanistan won't protect the world from its enemies, we will do it for them. In that case, they are guilty of the de facto sheltering of terrorists, and there are no true "innocents."
