The need to bolster Mr. Obama's patent foreign policy deficiencies on the coattails of a vice presidential candidate should send worrying signals to voters. Moreover, the inadequate attention given by Mr. Obama to this crisis points to the overall lack of a realistic foreign policy perspective that has been evidenced as his campaign unfolds. We do not need a President that must be goaded by his "Number Two" into formulating an effective strategic posture. What is needed is a a President that has the political and moral courage to hold aggressive powers to account, and lead by his own example.
