Georgia Conflict Demands a New Warsaw Pact

The countries of the former Warsaw Pact have felt, and are still suffering the effects of, domination by an unchecked Russia. This is why they will unequivocally resist the Putin regime's agenda. Western Europe, which was, for all intents and purposes, shielded by American military power during the Cold War, has had (and still has no) real incentive to play a real role in a real conflict. The European Union is nothing more than a trading league, and NATO has become little more than a debating society. Frankly speaking, Western Europe embodies the modern incarnation of the Chamberlain mentality of 1939.
