Inanities of 'Energy Independence'

Submitted by Keltin, Aug 21, 2008 06:19

Stossel is an admirable investigator. The conclusions he reaches in this article are very wrong and sound like a good neo-con's 'trade is everything' cheerleader. Trade is fine, but not the and-all be-all. It is very important that we have the ability to go to energy independence, so that a Russia invading Georgia, and a military response by us, won't result in hamstringing ourselves. It is much, much better to maintain the independence, that continues keeping us a sovereign nation, and not beholden to any other country. Energy is too important to leave to the inane statements of journalists, it seems. John, you are sounding like a globalist with a rainbow for a symbol.
