There are several things being overlooked in Mr. Stossel's article. 1) Unless the oil supply/industry is nationalized, any new oil will go into the market as a whole 2) That govt. funding with tax payers doilars will not, can not and have not ever done anything better then the free market 3) That the full power of the american free market needs to be unleashed. We do not live in a free market, our psudo captialistic system is over burden with regulations and gov "intervention". 4) and most important Mr. Stossel is not a republician, he is an admitted libertarian. For those who dont know the difference, I highly suggest reading up on libertarian ideas about gov and free markets. Knowledge is the key that will set you free.
