Wow. I'm from Ohio and had no idea that Obama was down to single digits over McCain. What with all the numbers of minorities and liberals in NY, who would think it could even be in play? A one-time 19 point lead is now down to 8 points? The poll was of Registered Voters; typically likely voters polled would reflect a narrower margin. Couple this with the margin of error and the "Bradley Effect" and McCain could be a lot closer than you think. I realize there's more than 2 months to go but if I were Obama, I would be worried. And if I were McCain, I'd get some boots on the ground in NY & NJ fast.
