Save Yankee Stadium? Babe's Granddaughter Says 'Yes'

Submitted by John "Boodie" Bullis, Aug 25, 2008 23:30

Saving the old Yankee Stadium is certainly a noble cause. But to suggest that it could ever replace - or even compete with - the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is akin to suggesting that St. Patrick's might be able to replace the Vatican. As a lifelong Yankees fan, and a lifelong resident of the Cooperstown area, I can tell you that baseball is bigger than New York City. So big, in fact, that Cooperstown is the only place in the world that is big enough to hold its historic treasures! Don't believe me? Just ask anyone who has made the pilgrimage.
