I dare not even sign my name to this for fear of inviting nasty jeers from friends, family and neighbors. I truly believe, however, that Alicia speaks for many of us who are simply exhausted with the same cliche anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-capitalism, anti-Americanism rhetoric we hear daily from the mainstream media, or on the elevator or subway, in the office, etc. -- too exhausted to fight back. Indeed I share her frustration with the attitude of the people of this greatest city in the world, but , shamefully, I lack her boldness to speak up -- as I think many do. Alicia, keep writing. As time goes by, hopefully more of us will feel empowered to join in. I know there are many other New Yorkers like us. Unfortunately, we're too busy working.
