There was a debate and the public voted for two terms. Then a couple of years later, career politicians (which in itself should concern anyone) decided WE didn't really mean it- so AGAIN we voted for two terms max. Now all of sudden, the Council and Mayor, seem to think we didn't mean it the second time either as they plant these stories to take the public pulse. Bloomberg and Quinn have made a living banking on the "turnover" of NYC's population. Everyday, some starry eyed transplant arrives with no point of reference of the history of our dear elected officials. Fortunately, their are still enough of us that are actually vested in our neighborhoods and not just whistling Sinatra as we send postcards back to Mayberry. So once again. Mr. Mayor you've plundered enough. You've tripled your fortune while in er..."public service". 8 years of failing the residents of this town should be enough for anyone. Move on. Aren't you and Bill gates planning to walk around the starving nations of Africa, torn apart by war, and lacking clean water- to pull the cigarettes out of the mouths while ignoring the genocide, pollution, aids, and food shortages anyway? Move on. You and your buddies have made you money. As for the Council, given that the prisons are already overcrowded, I suggest we "debate" narrowing term limits to one term only. Seriously.
