The Raid at Howard Industries

I'm very sorry for the undocumented aliens who risk their lives with the coyotes who smuggle them in. I'm sorry their own government doesn't see fit to make their lives better and eliminate the corruption in the government. I'm sorry their own government encourages them to come here so they can send money home. However, we do have immigration laws for a reason. There are many people waiting for their opportunity to come here legally. Yes, the immigration laws need reform. We should also consider the fact we are only one of the few countries that grant citizenship to anyone that is born here. Their parents don't fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S., therefore the child born here does not. We should also consider that the undocumented aliens working here do not pay taxes when paid in cash, and the taxes they pay when the employer withholds taxes are minimal as they claim the highest exemptions and pay the lowest taxes. Keep in mind that the SSN they are using could belong to you! Or your child! The nightmare that innocent victims face when having their SSN used for employment and/or other uses. Additionally, the SSA recognizes this problem when they find the no-match. Have you ever asked yourself what happens to that money that is put into the system erroneously? That money does not belong to the SSN owner, and they aren't going to give it to the alien when they retire. So what happens to that fund they have created for no-match SSN funds. I agree, employees are at risk due to exploitation by employers. They are at risk for accidents, deplorable work conditions and being underpaid. They do know this and choose to work under those circumstances. It is much better than what they left behind. Many of them leave their families behind. The employers exploit them. Should these employers go unpunished for this exploitation of these hardworking people? How else is ICE going to substantiate these allegations against the employers without going in and showing the undocumented aliens were actually working there? How unacceptable is it to condemn law enforcement for enforcing the laws that are (and have been for a long time) on the books. How does that make the U.S. look to rest of the world when high ranking members of Congress liken law enforcement to Nazis in the media, and the media agrees? What ever happened to unbiased news reporting? Just the facts? If you don't like the laws, then change them. Don't condemn law enforcement for just doing their jobs. Immigration reform is not black and white. There is a lot of gray. You can't just build a wall and you can't just give amnesty. Our Congress needs to step up to the plate and address all areas of immigration law to include visas issued by the Dept of State, labor certifications by the Dept of Labor and of course CIS. These agencies can only do what the law allows them to.
