After Delays, Underground Water Plant Takes Shape

I truly believe water rates are too high, and New Yorkers are being screwed by the inflated costs to build a water treatment plant under Van Cortlandt Park. I understand that for security purposes they built the facility under ground to prevent becoming a target in time of war. However, I feel individual users should put in their own water filters where water main enters the homes or service. It is better to have many filters, and more reliable at less cost to the water customer. The water board has raised their rates too many times and making water a high priced necessity. We are being ripped off by Mayor Bloomberg appointed water board individuals who continue to screw New Yorkers with high water bills. It's just another rippoff! Mafia prices for concrete also contributed to higher inflated costs to build this facility.
