A little scary, yes. What you mention about parents anxieties and fears goes along with how we're a country built on fear. I think I would have to start a little smaller scale before letting my child tackle NY subways, etc. However, I think it also depends on the child. Your child, obviously, was ready for this task and you felt fairly confident in his abilities. Nice job!
