When will they ever learn? Wasn't the 9/11 attacks on the WTC enough for the decision makers to understand the folly of concentrating municipal government into one area...in this case lower Manhattan? Has anyone in the planning agencies ever asked themselves why NYPD headquarters has to be within a stone's throw of City Hall? Why hasn't anyone put their egos aside and see that there are strategic issues bigger than themselves? Was it so long ago when we realized that putting the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management in the WTC's Building 7 perhaps wasn't such a good idea? Ladies and Gentlemen of New York City Government, why are we lining our ducks up in a row? If we are at war with terrorism, which I know we are, we should be fighting this war with strategists and not with toady bureaucrats.
