Obama's wail over America's allegedly lost moral standing is indeed perplexing. Apparently, it stems from negative Western European reaction to our invasion of Iraq back in 2003. Which means that Obama thinks that the moral standing of the USA depends on the affirmation of such worthies as: Jacques Chirac, who only clung to the presidency of France to stay out of prison for corruption; Gerhard Schroeder, the old far-left socialist "nuclear freeze" street thug turned German Prime Minister who is now, as an agent for JUCOS, in the pay of Moscow, although quite possibly not for the first time; Dominique de Villepin, the French Foreign Minister who violated all codes of diplomatic decency by deliberately and flat-out lying to Secretary Colin Powell; former British MP George Galloway, since proven to have taken bribes from Saddam in exchange for opposing US policy on Iraq; and various international saints and angels at the UN, from former Secretary General Annan on down, who cooperated with and profited from Saddam's Oil-for-Food scam, the greatest international fiscal scandal in history. This is not to say that opposition to the US invasion of Iraq came only from such morally dubious characters. It is to say that "world opinion," as trumpeted in the establishment media, presents even wretches like these as morally redeemed by their bitter opposition to, indeed contemptuous hostility towards, US "unilateralist" and "cowboy" foreign policy, an elitist attitude Barack Obama unfortunately seems to share.
