Hi Will, Usually when I comment on articles it's with a minimum of 500 words but gees you nearly said it all. I understand your point about the Blues and it's varying forms but the Blues is not sometimes inherently deceptive, people are. In my youth, I was amazed to learn that non-musicians do not understand that the Blues even has a form. Very often here in Norway people ask "Oh can't you play that Blues "Summertime" for me. Some folks think that all ballads are Blues. I politely play or sing it to make them happy. Well, it's the audiences that keep us employed so I aim to please. Recently I discovered the Blues in early and current Reggae…took me long enough…. I like Reggae as well because it's uplifting music, long live the Blues. Zainab McCoy
