To Make Ends Meet, More Risk Eviction To Run 'Hotels'

First of all, it's ridiculous that someone is paying $2,300 for a one bedroom apartment. It's about time the city took some responsibility for the skyrocketing rent situations. It's not fair. Landlords are basically extorting tenants. Secondly, although it is "illegal" to make your apartment into a hotel at least people are taking responsibility for their rent payments. There are many tenants who play the "professional" tenant game. They know the system and keep renting without paying rent through out the lease and moving when the judge finally says they have to move. Housing court is filled with these cases. It costs tax payers money and landlords have to pay their lawyers. Landlords should appreciate the efforts a little. I don't think anyone really wants strangers in their home. The economy is horrible and we have to make our way some how. Landlords complain about oil. Tenants complain about over priced closets. At the end of the day we're all hurting and we have to allow each other to do what we can to weather the storm. Just my two cents.
