Community Organizers 'Appalled' by Their Portrayal

The Obama Campaign attacked Sarah Palin as a "small town mayor," and implied that she was unqualified to be Vice President because she had been a mayor years ago. Palin's response was to point out that mayor is a higher position with more responsibilities than Obama's position as a Community Organizer. Then Palin pointed out that she was also Ethics Commisioner in Alaska before she became Governor, which she is now. As to the profession of community organizing, I still don't know what it is after reading this article. Organizers claim they work with people who need help. That is really not a very good job description, because so does a doctor, and so does the box boy in a grocery store. If people like myself don't give community organizers the respect they feel they deserve, perhaps they should do a better job of explaining what they do, rather than blaming us for not knowing that.
