Sabathia Is Red Hot, but History Isn't on His Side

I think every one knows that Sabathia isn't going to become a sub-2.00 ERA pitcher. He also is likely to be overvalued and overpaid this winter, especially when you factor in his current streak and the risk involved with a pitcher with such a heavy workload, but that usually happens when you're the best player at your position on the market. Of course Sabathia isn't going to suddenly become Bob Gibson, but it isn't far-fetched to think he may come close. He could go on a Cy Young winning streak like Randy Johnson did after his 11 start run for Houston at the end of 1998. It's not as if he doesn't have the track record of an elite starter, he's been having success in the American League since he was 20.
